Las Vegas Here We Come!!!

For Christmas from my in laws, Lance and I got tickets to the Rose Bowl game on New Year's Day. We are going with my SIL and her husband, so we all decided to stay in Vegas and drive to the game. What a great idea. I am stoked. Lance and I are going tomorrow night and we are coming home on Sat. night. WOO HOO!!!! I can't wait. We have never been. Nana and Big Daddy are keeping the kids for us, and I just know that will be a blast. So, I just wanted to post and say FAREWELL until I get back. I will post pics as soon as I can. Happy New Year EVERYONE!!

Round 6- Martin

Drew and Rachel in their matching PJ's

Lance taking a nap with Rachel in the princess tent

Well, Saturday was our last Christmas. It was a TON of fun too. We went to Nana and Big Daddy's to spend Christmas there. Rachel and her cousin Drew play so well together so that was wonderful. She got a new Tag reading system, and LOVES it. It is so neat. I must admit that I was a bit sceptical, but it is AWESOME!!!!

Things "Santa" learned this year

This was Lance and I's first year really having to sneak to play "Santa". So, we learned a few VERY IMPORTANT lessons.

  1. NEVER wait to get the presents until the 22. Buy them as soon as she puts them in writing!!
  2. Wrap before Christmas Eve
  3. Pray a little harder that she is not sick so she is not up and down A LOT before we turn in. (We ended up having to hide the presents behind the couch so she couldn't see them)
  4. Buy more than one roll of "Santa" paper.
  5. More stocking stuff so she can see there is something in it and REALIZE that "Santa" had been there. HAHA

Which makes me think about a question that I always wonder about other people's traditions. As a child ALL of Santa's presents were wrapped, and Lance had them sitting out open. What is your thoughts on that. We have combined the two for our family, but I am always curious as to what others do.

Pics from Rachel

Her taking a pic of Elmo
She came running up to me and said that Elmo took this pic of her HAHA!!!

More Elmo

One of her first pics. Her baby!

Here is the other side of the one I took of her with her camera!!!
Notice my mother -in-law got us and Elf on a shelf for next Christmas. Thanks my blogging friends for the idea, I can't wait to do it.

Round 5- LeFevre

This Elmo is a hoot!!

He new digital camera. Look for the pictres from her next!

After we got up and going, opened presents, and relaxed it was time to go to Mimi & Poppy's. We opened presents FOREVER!!!!! My favorite was my new CHI!!!! WOO HOO!!!! So pumped, and then here are some pics of Rachel.

Round 4- Santa was here!!!

Mack, she also got McQueen

We got up with Rachel and amazingly enough, I think she forgot that Santa was supposed to come. So, as we went into the living room, she passed all the presents and way just walking around. So, we asked about the presents on the couch, and she thought nothing of them. So, I said "Rachel, someone took the stockings down and put them on the floor." Still nothing, she just said "Oh, no". Then I asked her what happened to the cookies that she had left, and then it hit her. So, she looked in her stocking, and was going through it when it caught her eye that there were toys sitting out. That is when she Screamed "JUST WHAT I WANTED" and the rest is history.

Round 3- Fillingim

Well, this round got canceled due to Rachel getting Bronchitis. So, we didn't want to get any of the other kids sick, so we stayed home and got ready for Santa to come on Christmas morning. Lance took her outside to take some trash out and next thing I knew she was coming in screaming that she saw Santa flying in the sky and the reindeer noses were blinking. She was so excited that she couldn't even speak. It was so cute.

Santa rides a FIRETRUCK?

We got a call today saying that Santa was going to be driving up and down all the streets in Jacksboro giving stockings to all the boys and girls. So, we missed him coming by our house, but we met him at a friend's house. It was so neat. We found out that the Fire Department has been doing that every year since 1951 (AT LEAST). WOW, this is just another thing that confirms that we love this little town. So, I took pics and thought I would post them!

Round 2- Coopers

Round 1- Kruse

Rachel, Kendal, Samantha Whack-a-mole

Elefun

Well, as anyone who knows us knows that we have 4 families, and that does not include our grandparents. So, when the Christmas season is over and done, we will have had 5 Christmas celebrations, one being just the 3 of us. I figured the best way to blog these was to do them in Rounds. So, here we go. We first went to my Grandparents in Taylor, TX and had Christmas with them and my mom. It was nice to see them and my nieces that we never get to see. Rachel had fun, and we really enjoyed seeing the family we only see 1 time a year.

ENTER--Panic Mode!!!

Well, our first set of family Christmas gatherings are this weekend. I am making gifts for a lot of people, and it is not going well. I am 1 short for Thursday, and 1 short for Friday. Then, 2 short on Sat. So, I have tried to do one a night, and that has not gone so well with the Twilight Sagas I am ADDICTED to. I can't stop reading, and I can't think of ANYTHING else besides sitting down to read. So, now I am taking a break and venting. Then back to work!!!

Congrats Aunt Lala!!!

This one is my favorite

My sister-in-law Lauren graduated on Saturday. She then had a graduation party with a live band and Rachel was watching the guy playing the drums from the window in the bedroom and her kept smiling at her and she just loved watching them play. So after a few songs he help up some extra drum sticks to her and she jumped down and ram outside to play with him. She loved it. She played with him until they left. Then even invited her to join them at the Rockin' P, but they didn't have a car seat so I wouldn't let her go. The rest of the band was turned around watching her play with them. It was so neat. She LOVED it. After they played their last song, she ran up and hugged him and thanked him for letting her play. It was so sweet. He told me that she had made his night. Just thought I would share. We may have a drummer on our hands.

Dear Santa

Writing her letter
She waited for so long to see the car that was as long as a bus!!! Check out Santa on vacation with his camper and flamingos!!!

Well, Rachel sat down and wrote a letter to Santa and I video taped some of it, but I can't get it to work. So here are the pictures. Then on Sunday we went to see him. We then went to see the Christmas lights in Arlington. It was fun because we got to go in a Limo with some of my in-laws. It was a ton of fun. The kids loved it.

A Word From Rachel

The other day I had cramps pretty bad, and I had this little converstaion with Rachel. I thought it was quite humorous.

(As I lay in the fetal position)

Rachel: Mommy, what is wrong?

Me: My tummy hurts really bad

R: You need to Poo poo?

M: No, it just hurts.

R: You don't want to have a big Poo Poo?

M: No baby, my tummy just hurts.

R: OK, Mommy

WE DID IT!!!

AT THE START

Amber running

The Fire

YES, Santa and Mrs. Claus were there!!!

Right before we headed home!

Well, Amber and I did it. We finished a 5 K (3.2 miles). It was a blast. People everywhere and even some SERIOUS runners. I mean SERIOUS, spandex and all. There were several things that happened while we were in route. We had about a 1/2 mile to go and we cam across a TON of smoke. I thought (was wishing) we were closer to the finish, and thought it was them with smoke machines for the finish. Nope, it was a parking garage. The closer we bot we realized that it was the garge we parked in. It was crazy. The smoke was horrible. It was so hard to breathe as we went by. But, we did get past it. Then a little further we went by this little old man, who was running the whole way I think, and he was with a police officer and I saw him holding his head and the officer was saying "Sir, that is what they are here for, you have a really bad gash on your head!" Oh my goodness, I was so sad for that man. So then we turned the corner and say the finish and we wanted to sprint trough the finish. Boy there were TONS of people there waiting. It was so neat. They had also placed people throughout the route to cheer you on, so that was neat. So, I know you all want to know this, we finished under our goal of 45 minutes and made it in 42. We were so pumped to do it. We can't wait to find another to do . It was so fun to go from not running at all, to running so much it hurt. It was AWESOME!!! After we just knew they were not going to let us in the garage to go home (HOPEING IT WAS NOT AMBER'S CAR), but by the time we got there we were able to get right in and leave. So, there it is, now it is over and I am sad. Can't wait to do another. If you hear of any, let me know.

Happy Brithday Ashlyn

Ok, I know this is the third post today, but a lot happened over the Weekend. While we were in San Antonio, we went to Ashlyn's second birthday. It was so fun to watch the girls play together. They enjoy eachother's company especially at bath time. So after they had a bath, and ate, they washed thier hands together and boy did they make it look fun. Just wanted to share the pics. HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY SWEET GIRL!!!!
